Pig Production 3 Week Online Course (15 Hours)

This practical course provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to apply advanced pig husbandry practices within modern agricultural systems. It covers all essential aspects of pig farming, including breeding, nutrition, housing, health management, and daily operational practices.

Learners will gain an understanding of the South African pig production industry, including both commercial and smallholder sectors, as well as key challenges such as biosecurity risks, input costs, and infrastructure limitations. The course emphasises best practices to improve productivity, maintain animal welfare, and ensure sustainable farming operations.

By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to manage pig production systems effectively in both small-scale and commercial environments.

Available in English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa and Sesotho.

On completion of the course you will receive a QCTO accredited certificate aligned to Unit Standard 116299 (NQF Level 4, Credits: 5).
