Breeding Systems 3 Week Online Course (15 Hours)

This practical course provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to plan and maintain effective breeding systems in livestock production. It focuses on the principles of animal breeding and how different breeding methods are applied to improve genetic quality and herd performance.

Learners will explore how breeding systems influence productivity, animal health, and long-term sustainability within farming operations. The course also covers how to select appropriate breeding strategies, manage breeding programmes, and improve livestock performance over time.

By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to implement breeding systems that support efficient and sustainable animal production.

Available in English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa and Sesotho.

On completion of the course you will receive a QCTO accredited certificate aligned to Unit Standard 116318 (NQF Level 4, Credits: 3).
