This course expands on water laws, irrigation benefits, hydrological cycles, soil water significance, movement, and plant accessibility. Plus soil-water relationships and management. Suitable land for irrigation through selection and soil assessment is also discussed, along with irrigation scheduling, utilizing climatic data and factors like Et/Eo ratios, root depth, and moisture, irrigation methods: layout, spacing, overhead, flood, gated pipe, and drip systems, the implementation of broader irrigation aspects: pumps, drainage, and cost considerations.

Available in English, Afrikaans, Portuguese, Sesotho, Shona, Xhosa and Zulu.

On completion of the course you will receive an AgriSETA accredited certificate.
